JAUME AMIGO

Jaume Amigó (Barcelona, 1963) studied engraving and printmaking techniques at the Llotja School of Art and Design in Barcelona. Faithful to his early vocation as a painter, Amigó has developed over the years, through his own exploration, a personal and singular language, deeply linked to nature, its transformations, the earth and its elements.

Alongside painting, he made numerous forays into sculpture, ceramics and engraving, as well as scenography works for dance and theatre, always returning to painting as his main means of expression.

Based in l'Alzina de Ribelles, in the Noguera region of Catalonia, where he has his home and studio, Jaume Amigó has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Morocco and various parts of Asia. Japan has held a special place in his life for over thirty years, a country to which he is drawn back, time and again.

He has participated in numerous exhibitions and artist residencies, both in Spain and abroad.
